Alexis August is an editorial assistant at Workman Publishing. She graduated from the University of Southern California with a bachelor’s degree in English and a master's in Literary Editing and Publishing. Alexis started as a volunteer with Behind the Book before joining the YEB, where she currently serves as the chair of the volunteer committee. Behind the Book combines all of her passions––books, education, and helping marginalized communities––and she hopes to foster a love of reading in future generations.
