Roya Nabizadeh
Program Curriculum Developer
Roya is a special educator with 10 years of experience in the classroom having served as a researcher, paraeducator, teacher assistant, academic and behavior interventionist, social justice and social studies curriculum developer, and lead teacher. At City College of New York, she received a MS in Special Education with honors and from the University of Vermont, she received a BA in French and Spanish. She draws inspiration from her field work in Dakar, Senegal, her personal journey as a student in special education herself, and her Iranian-American culture. She has several years of experience creating and delivering rigorous yet accessible content— as it is her belief that with the right resources, all students can not only meet but exceed their potential. Roya brings this expertise and passion to her work as a curriculum developer at Behind the Book.
