Corporate Partnership
Opportunities
Behind the Book (BtB) partners with corporations, small businesses and organizations of all sizes from a variety of industries. Whether your objective is to promote positive community relations, fulfill a corporate social responsibility goal or inspire employees through philanthropy, BtB has a diverse array of opportunities for your company and staff to get involved and make an impact.
How it Works
BtB strives to increase reading engagement and writing proficiency through a broad range of literacy programs. Each program is uniquely designed to meet the student and curriculum needs of each class and consists of six to eight workshops, two of which usually require volunteers to help with writing and research. You would have the right of first refusal for volunteer opportunities associated with the program. We generally need 10 – 15
Behind the Book’s classroom programs provide a wonderful opportunity for companies and their employees to get involved. We welcome your employees as volunteers in our classrooms and will match you with a program that suits your company’s schedule. We serve Pre-K – 12th grades in Manhattan, Brooklyn, and the Bronx, and will work closely with you on venue and timing.

Volunteer Resources
Workshops
To sign up for workshops, email: volunteer@behindthebook.org with each program code, date, and time slot(s) you choose. If there is more than one volunteer workshop in a program, we encourage you to sign up for as many as you can. Students benefit from, and you will enjoy working with, the same group throughout a project.
The PC will follow up closer to the workshop date with more information about its content and your role. If you must cancel, be sure to let the volunteer coordinator or the program coordinator know as soon as possible.

Returning Volunteers
All volunteers must sign a release each school year. You must sign a release whether you’ve volunteered with us before or not.
