 is a literary arts nonprofit that promotes literacy and a reading culture among low-income students in New York City public schools.  Our mission is to excite children and young adults about reading.

Part of a Book Club or Writers Group?
Well, now your book club or writers group can help give the gift of literacy by providing books for a Behind the Book classroom. As a book club or writers group sponsor, you will have the opportunity to really see your money in action. You can choose to sponsor books for an elementary, middle, or high school class. You will also be invited to visit and volunteer in the classroom while our students study and discuss the book you provided for them!
