In July 2009, Behind the Book board and staff members organized and engaged in a special three-day retreat to evaluate our in-school programs and determine how we can better serve our teachers and students in the classroom.

~~ABOUT BEHIND THE BOOK~~
The mission of Behind the Book is to excite children and young adults about reading. Working with low-income students in New York City’s K-12 public schools, Behind the Book brings authors and their books into individual classrooms to build literacy skills and nurture a new generation of book readers.
